Dids Music

Q&A with Artists

Di is based in the United Kingdom and has been writing songs and poems since she was 15 years old. She started recording her original songs over 6 years ago and received positive feedback from people in the industry.
Di’s inspiration stems from life experiences both her own and that of others. Creating and creating songs in itself is inspirational when you see the final product.

Most of the time when Di is writing a song it’s a song of positivity and survival. About being true to yourself not letting others control or influence you in a negative way.

Di has gone on to write over 500 plus songs since then. She has slowly worked through them and has recorded over 130 of them to date. Di has done some collaboration with songwriters, singers, musicians, and producers. She is comfortable working with industry professionals from all walks.

DiDs Music & Steph Evans – My Fix

In March 2017 she decided to be a full-time top-line songwriter. Although she writes for most genres; she does seem to spend most of the time writing Pop and R&B, with Modern Country, Indie Pop, Indie Rock, and Indie Folk being slightly less frequent projects.

Di’s long-term goal is to get her songs heard through as many channels as possible.
She has benefited from attending SongWriting Academy workshops and done one of their boot camps. In 2018 Di Attended the Academy of Contemporary Music and in 2020 completed her BA Honours Degree in Electronic Music Production. She loves her job as a top line songwriter /producer/beatmaker and is 100% committed to achieving her goals.

How would you describe your style?
I believe that my style is creative, innovative, and crosses multiple genres.

Why do you do what you do?
I love creating music; to see a song grow from an idea to full songs is an amazing feeling. Knowing that other people will be listening to what I created and get joy or therapy or both from it gives huge satisfaction.

Ambition or talent: which matters more to you?
Both ambition and talent are equally as important. Without talent, your work will be mediocre, but I believe that talent alone is not enough. You have to have the drive, passion and determination to put your work out there to be shared and experienced.

What inspires you to create music?
For me, inspiration takes many forms. Sometimes it is a life experience; either mine or somebody else’s. Sometimes it’s an idea that forms from something I see or hear. Life is full of inspiration.

How did you find the scouting process in Rehegoo?
Being scouted by Reheegoo was a lovely surprise. Rehegoo is very informative and has provided me with support whenever I have needed it.

How did you feel when signing a contract with Rehegoo?
e contract with Rehegoo is a great achievement its really nice to get recognition for my music and for Rehegoo to be interested in me and my music.

What is the greatest achievement of your career so far?
My biggest achievement is completing my B A (Honour) Degree in Music Production this year. Before I did my degree my ability was limited and I relied heavily on other producers, because I was mainly a topline songwriter. Now I create everything myself with very little help from other producers and mix engineers.

What has been the biggest obstacle?
My Biggest obstacle was my lack of self-confidence in my ability as a musician. I was encouraged by another producer who thought that my songs were good. This gave me the confidence to experiment, grow, and share.

What is your worst and best fan moment?
My best fan moment was when someone told me one of my songs helped her get through a tough time in her life. That was a lovely feeling. That comment has stayed with me for years. I don’t have a bad fan story. However, not everyone likes my songs and that’s ok. Music is subjective. In the music industry, you have to have thick skin or you won’t survive.

What is a favorite song of yours?
This is a tough question! I have so many songs that I love, but I guess a couple of my favorites that I have released are: “Dark Side of Your Moon”, “No Shame” and “Summer Vibes Dance Mix”.
